Excellent food. Bread was served warm with a dipping sauce, the steak was cooked perfectly and the roasted potatoes were nice and crispy like I like them. Went home with a piece of cheesecake which I haven’t tried yet but it looks awesome. Prices are very reasonable and the service was great too!

Very friendly pleasant waitress. Omelet was excellent. Potatoes were too oily. French toast was good but someone over shook the cinnamon and left it. But what do I know. I only got to the status of sous chef. Recommend here.too pricey to bring kids better for privacy

Our only recommendation would be that cafe rethink their coffee cups. Because of the large surface area of the cups they use the coffee cools quickly as apposed to using cups with a smaller opening to the air which helps keep the coffee warmer. Especially when you have coffee AND enjoy your meal. Just a thought.

We sat in the area where the counter is and the kitchen was behind that. There were several servers gathered in that area and they were speaking in loud voices, so it was a bit disturbing. We also had to ask for coffee 3 times. The food was ok, but we most probably won't go back.

The colors in the decor were a mixture of good, great, and terrible. The food was good but overpriced, and some of the lettuce in my salad was brown on the edges. The waitress was very helpful and friendly but too loud. When we arrived, the music was loud and terrible, but the waitress was able to put something else on and turn it down for us; otherwise we would have left, as it was giving me a headache and causing me to feel tense.

The bbq chicken pizza crust was very soggy, but we ended up not getting charged for it. The pasta with scallops was good. The lamb shanks was good, but a tad salty. The apple pie was delicious. Kind of had a higher end dinner feel. We don’t go out to eat that often, so we probably wouldn’t go again given that it’s kind of far for us, except maybe for the pie.

We started with soup. I ordered the Osumashi (sp.?) Soup which featured "mushrooms, tempura crumbs" etc. There as a small sliver of a mushroom - that was it. I mentioned it to the waiter and he said there was a "power struggle" in the kitchen. My husband got his Spicy Gyoza soup a long time after I finished. When his soup was delivered, our server again mentioned the tension and power struggle in the kitchen. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. Finally, I am assuming the manager, came over with another server and said our order was "lost in the computer". That was the last we saw of our server. We had to give our again (keep in mind the first server wrote it on paper - did he toss it?). I ordered the Kaki Fry (6 fried oysters). After another long wait, I was served 4 oysters but was charged the price of the 6. The oysters were delicious! I was finished with my oysters for maybe half an hour, when my Nabeyoki Udon arrived (of course it was MINUS the 1 shrimp, 1 crab stick, 1 fish cake the menu referred to). I did get chicken and tofu. The poached egg either had no yellow or it was broken into the broth, because there was no visible yellow. I had high hopes for this place after reading the menu. We were very disappointed and probably would not make another visit there. I feel we got ripped off - because nothing was as described on the menu. When I was served the 4 oysters rather than the 6 specified, I should have known this was not going to end well. I would go down the street and pay a little more than to go back there and get cheated.

Bread served almost immediately upon being seated was delicious. We had a variety of entrees (rib-eye steak, meatloaf, pizza and burger). Everyone loved their meal. Waiter was very attentive. Great experience and will certainly return. Ordered a peach pie to go as everyone was too full for dessert. Haven't tried it yet.

The place only has one waiter, so we almost didn't get any service. But he charged us 20% of tips on my credit card before I added the tips on the bill. There was an event in a room, very loud singing with music. The scallop was over cooked and didn't smell fresh at all. Save your money, don't go to this place.

I eat at Citrus Cafe regularly and really enjoy the food. I also usually get good service, but this particular experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I've been helped by Noelle before and she has been very friendly and attentive in the past, but on this particular visit, she came by to take my order, then as I started giving her my order, she walked away and said she'd give me a minute to decide. It's possible she didn't hear me, but then I tried to get her attention after that and she ignored me a couple of more times. I waited another 5 minutes before she came back and finally took my order, but I was so upset by that point that I was ready to leave. The service after that was okay, but those 5 minutes that I was kept waiting after I had already started to order really made me upset. It was a very busy lunch rush, but that is no excuse to forget the customer service part of the job. She wasn't rude, but she was impatient and inattentive that day. She's waited on my party about 4 times in the past, and this is the only negative experience I've had, but it really did ruin my meal.

Overall good experience. I ordered the salmon benedict but the salmon was very salty and overpowered the entire dish. Also, I ordered a kid's orange juice but received and was charged for a large orange juice which cost more than twice as much. Pointed out the error to the server, who was nice, but he should have corrected the error and not charged me for the larger size. It wasn't worth the trouble to complain, but it did make the experience a little less pleasant for me.

This was our first time ever dining here...from the start, we found easy and close parking, we walked right in and even though there was a few big groups and a party in the banquet room, we were seated immediately! Which was awesome....never does that happen anywhere...we have always been curious about this place...our expectations were exceeded....our waiter was super fast and friendly and had a great smile. He made sure to come by a few times to check on us and to see if the meal was up to par. I ordered a soup of the day as a starter and it was there in a blink of an eye, it was one of the best clam chowder I've had in a while. The food is a little pricey but very well worth it!/ the quantity, the quality, the presentation, the atmosphere, the waitstaff, the place itself is very well located on a major intersection with excellent parking, best experience we have had in a long time customer service wise and foodwise. Limited menu but it's Hella good. Icing in top was the homemade peach pie a la mode...thank you and we will be coming back soon! :)

Service at the Citrus Café was absolutely outstanding. Shame on me for forgetting the waitress’s name, however, because she was truly accommodating in ensuring that our dining experience was extraordinary. Also, kudos to the chef for presentation and great taste in all the dishes that we enjoyed. I highly recommend the Citrus Café.

the service was very attentive, & the food was good too. The entree salad I had was large enough for 2 people to share. We sat outside on the patio which was nicely shaded & had outdoor fans. There is some noise from the street & when the train went by but it did not bother us.

It was a very busy Sunday breakfast morning and things, waiters, were a little scattered in their attempt to serve everyone. They almost appeared to be panicked. One person didn't know what the other was doing at the same table. I asked if the tea was sweetened and was told yes, when in fact, it was not a sweetened tea. Overall the service and everything was good and we will return.

We went to the Citrus Café for lunch and the food was really good. I had the Newporter sandwich which really had a lot of avocado and tomatoes in it. My husband had the Oriental salad which was huge. He added extra dressing. The Ahi salad was also quite good and huge. The fruit was fresh and for the most part ripe. Definitely will go back.

Always a good meal here. The negatives, if you can call them that, are that the lentil salad is ridiculously large --- about a pound of lentils in it, so a lot goes wasted. The server forgot to tell us what items they were out of, so several of us had to change our orders. One of our party deemed his pork chop as being "nothing special." However, everything else was perfect and the server was attentive. The food here is very fresh, and if you go on a night other than Friday or Saturday, the room is fairly quiet; on a Friday or Saturday, you can't hold a conversation due to the noise from the crowd at the bar. Still one of our favorite places for a very good meal.

Steak in the steak and eggs breakfast was poor (overdone for med-rare and not good quality). Asked for country fried steak with no gravy and it arrived covered in gravy. Did have the chicken fried steak replaced but did not bother with the steak. Had to ask repeatedly for refill of water and a couple of times for refill of coffee. Then when we had check split on 2 credit cards, the wrong amount was charged (they split the amount pre discount) so they had to redo the charge. Both amount showed up on my credit card account online pending so I'm keeping eye on it to see if it disappears.

Staff was nice but food was terrible. Bread sticks were greasy and cold. Calamari was chewy, soggy and bland. The ribs were barely warm, fatty and smothered with bbq sauce to disguise poor quality of meat. Vegetables were wilted, as were the sweet potato fries. The pasta was only average. Overall, the food tasted like bad aged leftovers re-heated in a microwave oven. We wondered why it was so empty on a Friday at 6 pm. Now we know. We would not return even if the food were free. Food wise, this was awful. Just awful.

The only problem encountered was that the certificate purchased from restaurants.com did not specify that it could not be used during happy hour. My understanding was that this was a certificate and not a coupon/promotion. We did indicate that we were celebrating an anniversary, an yet no acknowledgement was made. Also the server was a bit slow, very friendly, maybe just overworked.

The Citrus Cafe is one of only a handful of places that accept the restaurant.com coupon in the Tustin area. I was VERY happy with the service and the food. It was a great experience and I WILL be going to Citrus Cafe again. Thank you....
